Nowadays, more and more touchscreen devices are coming up continuously. We do enjoy them much. Among these touchscreen devices, Samsung phones are especially welcomed by people. However, data loss always happens. A light tap on the wrong option can bring you a disaster. For example:You meant to hit "Add a conversation shortcut", but instead you tapped "Delete chat". And you just clicked "Yes" without thinking! AS a result, all your WhatsApp chat history is gone.
Luckily, thanks to WhatsApp-automatic backup, we have chance to retrieve the deleted WhatsApp messages from our Samsung devices.
It is really easy to recover the deleted WhatsApp messages less than 7
days by uninstalling and reinstalling. WhatsApp automatically creates a
backup of your data everyday at 4 am system time. This data is stored on your Samsung phone's internal memory. When you re-install the App, you are
reminded to restore your WhatsApp messages. Simply tap "Restore" and your WhatsApp chat history should appear on your Samsung Galaxy S5/S6/S6 Edge.
Recover Older Chats (Beyond 7 days)
WhatsApp messages that are deleted older than 7 days are somewhat tricky to restore. Here we recommended two ways, one is the manual way and another is using a third-party tool-Android Data Recovery Mac.
Option 1: Then Manual Way
WhatsApp allows users to create a manual backup by going to WhatsApp > Application Menu > Settings > Media Settings > Backup conversations. If you run a manual backup, you can recover deleted/lost WhatsApp messages older than 7 days.
Step 1: Uninstall WhatsApp. Navigate to the backup folder: /device/misc/whatsapp/backup, and you will see backup files which are saved with names like "messageStore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt".
Step 2: Select the backup file you want to restore and rename it with the most recent data. Re-install WhatsApp on your Samsung phone. When asked to restore, tap "Restore".
